Enable Cheats and Admin Commands for Ark

In order to use cheats and admin commands in-game, you'll first need to set an Admin Password that will let any player with the password use cheats, or set a list of players allowed to cheat.

Setting an Admin Password

An Admin password will allow any player with the password to access cheat and admin commands.
To set an Admin password:

  1. Open the GameUserSettings.ini file in Command Center.
  2. Find the line for the ServerAdminPassword= setting. If it is not present, add the line in the section directly underneath the [ServerSettings] header.
  1. Click "Save" to save your password settings. Settings will not be applied until the server is reset.
  2. Once the server has been reset, connect and pull up the in-game console (default hotkey for the console is TAB).
  3. Enter the command EnableCheats MyPassword using the password you set in step 2.

You'll now have the ability to use any admin command or cheat code.

Some cheats will need the prefix admincheat before they can be used; for example, the command to enable God Mode is 'admincheat God`

Setting a list of Admins

Adding a list of Admins to the server will allow those users on the list to use cheats and commands without needing a password, or the EnableCheats command
To set an Admin list:

  1. You'll need to know the unique Steam64 User ID number for each player. The easiest way to find these numbers is by looking it up here: http://www.steam64.com/
  2. Once you have the Steam64 ID, make a new .txt file called AllowedCheaterSteamIDs.txt. Put your Steam64 ID number in this file.
  3. Connect to your server using FTP, and upload the AllowedCheaterSteamIDs.txt to the folder /ark-survival-evolved/ShooterGame/Saved.
  4. You can add additional Steam64 IDs by opening AllowedCheaterSteamIDs.txt in Command Center, and adding the ID number on a new line.

Once this is done, next time your server is restarted, all players listed will be able to use cheats freely.
Some cheats will need the prefix admincheat before they can be used; for example, the command to enable God Mode is 'admincheat God`

Cheats & Commands

For a list of all cheats & commands, we suggest checking the Ark wiki: https://ark.fandom.com/wiki/Console_commands
Remember, any command labeled with Cheat: Yes will require the prefix adminCheat in order to be used on a server.
